BACKGROUND
There has been a college in Newcastle since 1912, with the first purpose built technical School opening in August 1930. A further extension was opened in 1961 and in 1966 the Technical School became a Further Education College.
A new two storey, 1,071m2 building was officially opened by Sir Reg Empey, Minister for Employment and Learning on 25th June 2009. Located on the the Castlewellan Road on the outskirts of the beautiful seaside town, transport, leisure and library facilities are within walking distance of the campus.
FACILITIES/RESOURCES WITHIN THE CENTRE
The Newcastle campus offers a range of courses and subjects from music and media to IT. It also provides a range of business and adult education courses.
